Honestly, I need to get my PR's compiled.  This is something I started a year ago and then lost my file.  I have them on my old computer but need to dig them out.  There is still more I need to find.

Short-Term Running Goals:

February 1st: Frosty 5k
February 22nd: Run for the Cookies
April 6th: Scranton Half Marathon (with Wes)
July 19th: New York Giants Run of Champions
October: Gettysburg Half Marathon

On top of some races, need to lose some weight to get to a good competition weight and also need to get rid of all my injuries.  I would also like to drop my times

This year I would also like to hit 1000 miles during the year.

Long-Term Running Goals:

I think that eventually I would like to qualify for Boston.  That is something that weighs on me but not as bad as not completing a marathon.  Think I will take the approach of trying to complete a marathon within the next 3 years and then we will see after that.

I also want to keep dropping my times and stay competitive in age groups and get competitive overall.

Personal:

I am 29 years old, soon to be 30 and I have the best most supportive wife (Courtney) and we just had our first child (Isaac) in December.  I ran track most of high school and one year of Cross Country.  I then went to college where I ran for a year on the college team.  Since then I have been trying to get myself back on track with my running, I run more days then not but I have not been able to have one year without some type of injury.  I would really like to get back to being injury free and a competitive runner.

I finally got a little running in. Regardless of how little running I did, I did it. The foot felt a little funny at times but overall, I cannot complain. I look forward to trying to go at it tomorrow. Let's just keep the chin up and keep stretching!!!

Beautiful day, I could not squander it by not running.  The run felt pretty good, a little slower then last week but I did it!.

Foot was pinching some.  Definitely felt the out of shape-ness that I am in.  I will get back there soon.  Rough day!

I felt great today so I let myself go and do whatever my body wanted.  I ended up running the 1.2 miles in 7:40 pace.  WOW!!!  That will not happen again soon, I need to get myself at 8:30 pace and then start building.  But I am feeling good, I still feel the foot a little but I am almost there.

15:57 (8:45 pace).  This is where I need to be.  Now it is about being consistent with the running and then it will be getting the miles up.  Let's hope for a nice go at this.

I don't know the actual mileage I went today but I went out for 20 minutes twice today.  The dog needs to get in shape as well as me.  I think that if I can get her our running a few times a week with me,  I may get us both in shape.  Made a plan to get back to exercising regularly this will hold me over for a few weeks to a few months when I can start on some type of plan.  I need to get cardio in so this plan will help with that.

Has the dog failed in keeping you going? :-( Hope all is well!

Surprisingly enough, I have gotten out 3-4 times a week for the past two weeks. I just don't have time to blog right now. I need to catch up. 6am-5pm work and then 2 Master's classes is about as much as I can handle right now. My wife gets the little extra attention I have. How have you been Wes?

18:08 for 2 miles.  I know that I should be happy that I was out there but that just won't cut it for me.  I have a long way to go.  I am hoping that this foot gets back so that I can do the Run for the Diamonds, maybe that is over-zealous but I am going to try for it.  Maybe being upbeat will get me to the start line.

Steve!! What's up, buddy?

From Steve on Wed, Nov 09, 2011 at 21:54:11 from 50.29.199.45

Hey Wes! I guess it has been a long time since I have been on here. Well lots of things happening but nothing good and nothing involving running. I mangled my finger, either separated my shoulder or severly strained it, and now I have Layrangitis. I have also been working like a dog between work and my master's classes. I keep feeling twinges in my foot so I haven't run, probably should go back to the podiatrist but don't want him to give me the cortisone shot, I wish there was a natural way to fix it.

Anyway enough about me, how have you been? How is the family? Have you been doing well with your runs? How's work?

From baldnspicy on Wed, Nov 09, 2011 at 22:16:23 from 72.77.72.110

I hear ya on the time flies thing. I can't believe I started a project for a family friend back in March but haven't made hardly any progress on it yet at all. I thought it had only been a couple of months. Sigh...

I'm sorry to hear about your finger & shoulder! What happened?? Married life is tough but that seems a little too rough!

Busy is the word for my life too. Running just isn't happening like I've wanted it to. The foot still hurts a little, and I've developed a corn or something in between my 4th and 5th toes of my other foot, so that's painful at times. I'd be getting out more, but by the time I have a few minutes to myself it's 10pm. Since I haven't run since Sat's Dirt Monster, I'm taking the first chance I've had today and heading out. Funny thing is that I really do enjoy running at night. It's just usually when I'm the most tired so it's harder to get myself motivated to get out.

I was told after my stress fracture healed to go get new orthotics. I've decided not to do it and for the last few months have just been running without them. I think they might make a difference for me, but I think I just need to strengthen my feet/legs. I'm avoiding them until it's bad enough I feel like I need them.

Family is doing well, work is crazy busy but I guess that's a good thing. I just need to find a little more time for "me." I don't know how you do it; working, family, school...you rock to be able to handle all that!

Hang in there and keep in touch!
