Honestly, I need to get my PR's compiled.  This is something I started a year ago and then lost my file.  I have them on my old computer but need to dig them out.  There is still more I need to find.

Short-Term Running Goals:

February 1st: Frosty 5k
February 22nd: Run for the Cookies
April 6th: Scranton Half Marathon (with Wes)
July 19th: New York Giants Run of Champions
October: Gettysburg Half Marathon

On top of some races, need to lose some weight to get to a good competition weight and also need to get rid of all my injuries.  I would also like to drop my times

This year I would also like to hit 1000 miles during the year.

Long-Term Running Goals:

I think that eventually I would like to qualify for Boston.  That is something that weighs on me but not as bad as not completing a marathon.  Think I will take the approach of trying to complete a marathon within the next 3 years and then we will see after that.

I also want to keep dropping my times and stay competitive in age groups and get competitive overall.

Personal:

I am 29 years old, soon to be 30 and I have the best most supportive wife (Courtney) and we just had our first child (Isaac) in December.  I ran track most of high school and one year of Cross Country.  I then went to college where I ran for a year on the college team.  Since then I have been trying to get myself back on track with my running, I run more days then not but I have not been able to have one year without some type of injury.  I would really like to get back to being injury free and a competitive runner.

This was supposed to be a 5k but I don't have one measured out.  I ran the 3 miles in 20:30, it has been way to long since my last race and I felt this during the run.  I was out way to fast and back a little slow but not overly slow.

Today was the makeup for the 5 miler I missed yesterday.  I ran it in 37:45 or so.  Ran on the treadmill so it was paced for me.  I decided today that I will run a 5k this weekend when I should be doing a 60 minute cross train.  I then will go out Sunday and run the 7 miler.  My foot was a little achy today but overall my knees aren't bothering me as much as they usually do.

I had a pretty good race, I unfortunately started out to quick.  While I felt good I should have slowed down just a bit.  My biggest problem is that I have not been racing lately because of standard training with no races involved.  I need to get myself back into the saddle.  Two weeks until my 10k in Denver, just need to keep putting in quality miles even though the next two weeks will be filled with wedding things.

Took a completely new course today, got a little confused so I went up a road I shouldn't have and ended up cutting the run .37 short.  I ran 50:03 for a 6.63 miler which was very hilly.  It was allright for the body, my hip starts to bother me with lots of hills but it helps the plantar facisis and the knee problems.  I am not going to complain to much, this is what I expect the day after a hard race and using a new course.  I am getting excited to be done with this 10k program and on to longer runs and training for the Run for the Diamonds.

On a side note the road was amazing and I kept looking at all the houses on it and hope one day I can own one of those because they are in the woods and not many neighbors with some space for a family (one day, I will have one of those)

Did the standard home loop today, felt slow going out, but I felt consistent.  I think the race, coupled with the long run yesterday all on hills is taking a little toll on me.  The good thing about it is I think this will help me feel stronger, I am starting to 'hurt' like I did when I had really good workouts in high school and college.  Just need to keep attacking these runs and hope that the body feels good.  The foot was a little stiff at the beginning but it loosened up by the end of the run.  (time: 23:46)

Felt good, kept a nice pace and ran pretty care free. I was tired all day until I got to the run.  39:43 for the run was a fairly good time and I am feeling strong (must be all of the hills)

10 x 400's today.  I ran them all under 6:00 per mile pace.  Felt good but did it all on the treadmill.  Not very much to report today!

Ran it in 22:13.  I was feeling a little less then par for the first two miles so I decided to take it easy my last mile.  Not the best day, running out of energy this week.

Ran in 29:40 tonight.  Still have not taken the time to determine speeds for runs.  I may be trying to do that tonight or putting in my entries from the previous few weeks as I have been trying out different websites for "blogging" and I think this is the best.  The only problem is this does not ask for my time and calculate a per mile pace.  The website that did, had many other problems.  I think this is it, I am staying with this one for the duration of my training for the marathon.  (Hopefully I don't have to cut it short due to injuries)

Ran 6 miles in 45:30.  It was supposed to be an EZ run which I think that the pace was reasonable but I am not quite sure what my paces are.  I was too captivated by the sporting events last night to do work on my running.  I didn't hurt to much at the pace I was going, I think that having a slower pace may help me stay injury free.

Should have been 5, when I was in high school the coach always said it was a 5 miler.  My time certainly showed that it was very close to 4 miles.  Disapointed that I didn't get five in, but needed to end due to personal reasons.

I ran a two mile warmup to get my five miles for the day.  The race went well for it being at 7 pm and all of the slush, ice, and snow on the road.  Started to feel a little problem on the side of my leg.  Hoping it goes away.
