Honestly, I need to get my PR's compiled.  This is something I started a year ago and then lost my file.  I have them on my old computer but need to dig them out.  There is still more I need to find.

Short-Term Running Goals:

February 1st: Frosty 5k
February 22nd: Run for the Cookies
April 6th: Scranton Half Marathon (with Wes)
July 19th: New York Giants Run of Champions
October: Gettysburg Half Marathon

On top of some races, need to lose some weight to get to a good competition weight and also need to get rid of all my injuries.  I would also like to drop my times

This year I would also like to hit 1000 miles during the year.

Long-Term Running Goals:

I think that eventually I would like to qualify for Boston.  That is something that weighs on me but not as bad as not completing a marathon.  Think I will take the approach of trying to complete a marathon within the next 3 years and then we will see after that.

I also want to keep dropping my times and stay competitive in age groups and get competitive overall.

Personal:

I am 29 years old, soon to be 30 and I have the best most supportive wife (Courtney) and we just had our first child (Isaac) in December.  I ran track most of high school and one year of Cross Country.  I then went to college where I ran for a year on the college team.  Since then I have been trying to get myself back on track with my running, I run more days then not but I have not been able to have one year without some type of injury.  I would really like to get back to being injury free and a competitive runner.

Hey Steve! Nice week and nice run! Keep up the great work. Hope everything is feeling good. I hope to get back to getting some miles in starting this week! I'll keep you posted.

Thanks! I am doing okay, foot is a little sore today. Plan on stretching it and trying to workout the pain, we will see. I just bought a new pair of shoes today and I hope that could help too. The guy at the store said I needed to be in one size larger, I was comfortable in the size I was in but his logical was fool proof so I switched sizes. Let's hope that helps. How have you been? I see you've got lots of storms lately.

After a 12 miler, I'd expect a little foot pain/soreness. The last pair of shoes I bought I went with the size I normally do, but I've been thinking maybe I should have gone up a 1/2 size to give a little more room in the toebox area. I'll be looking to pick up another pair here in a month or so and may grab a bit bigger size. What was his logic, may I ask?

Yep, killer storms coming through lately. Some have hit us pretty good, but I love the storms so it doesn't bother me much. As long as I don't have any big trees come down, that is. :-)

He said it had to do with your feet naturally want to slide back in the shoe. If the shoe is too small then your foot cannot shift back so it scrunches up and it pinches your arch. With the extra, your foot won't scrunch up. That was my take on it.

Glad to hear no problems with the storms. We have been getting plenty of rain and thunder but nothing too intense here.
